I’m not too sure if I told my readers before but my first experience with a personal computer wasn’t until 2001. Yes I’m very serious and was 21 years old! I got information overload and lost about 3 years of my life trying to understand it! I started with the basics and was very interested in software. I’m talking applications that make things work such as Operating Systems, Security Suites, and other simple applications pc’s uses…

After getting pretty board with that, around the end of 2001 I started getting involved with People to People file sharing. This was a big thing back then and as most of you might remember we used c++ and Mirc around this time as well. I passed through this phase pretty quick and started using torrents and private tracker websites. This whole process lasted about 3 years and then I lost interest in my computer. Another 2 years passed and around 2005 I bought my very own computer and no longer was using my girlfriends. I started off the same playing with applications downloading stuff and once again found myself bored with the regular routine. I decided to start my very first website. I was still into torrents and private trackers so I launched a p2p forum that was based on screenshots for quality purposes and links to live downloads! With over 5000 active members I decided the site was getting to main stream and I shut it down. I deleted the database and deleted the forums re-installing a phpbb message board for open source software and webmaster discussions.

This is when I first feel in love with phpbb and it was a rocky relationship. Overall I still to this day use and promote open source software and I have started many other projects as well. As most of my readers know I own http://www.blogengage.com based on open source software and is a social networking website for bloggers. I started my very own Search Engine Optimization Marketing blog which focuses on the basics of starting a website or blog and generating organic traffic. I also started iknownil which is the coolest blog name ever! It’s so cool I still don’t know what my blog focus is about lol and I continue to blog about… well let’s say iknownil. My article today was written in hopes that I can give you motivation to start your own website or blog. Seriously if I can do it, so can you. Remember I didn’t even sit on a pc until 2001 so I’m still new at all this internet stuff. I wrote this blog to tell you a little about me and where I’m coming from. Like I mentioned I bought a new pc in 2005 but I didn’t get to use it much as I was in College. I graduated with a degree in Business Administration Marketing in 2008 and I now work full time in Marketing and Sales.

So in total I only have about 3 years worth of experience on the personal computer and even less when it comes to being online and owning blogs. I seem to be doing well regarding my blog sites and my personal projects are also doing great. I guess the lesson is to continue personal growth and never give up on yourself. I should be posting more but I’m a busy guy and maybe someday I can make a habit of becoming consistent but for now I’ll remain inconsistent. Well I’m off to moderate my websites.
